Charles Curtis Gaines, Jr. also known as "Little Brother" answered the Master's call quietly and peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at The Orchard in Warsaw, Virginia.

He was born June 28, 1946 to the late Charles and Clara Gaines, Sr. Charles attended school in Essex County Virginia. He was a construction worker and was last employed with Hopke Construction Company.

Charles joined Antioch Baptist Church at an early age, and then he moved his membership to Zion Baptist Church in Chance, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, William Henry Gaines, John Gaines, Douglas Gaines and one sister, Ella Mae Howard.

He leaves to cherish fond memories a loving and devoted wife, Julia Ann Gaines; one brother, Nathan A. Gaines, Sr. (Gloria); one sister, Clara Christine Gaines both of Hustle, Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Alice Blagmon and Swindell Chase; one aunt, Ellen Sayles; seven nieces, Victoria M. Gaines, Aleisa Mae Howard, Latanya Gaines, Shirley Johnson, Rosie, Katherine Criss and Cynthia; six nephews, Nathan A. Gaines, Jr., William Darnell Howard, John Glen Howard (Joan), Ralph, Tony and Erick Blagmon; two great-nieces, Destiny Howard and Nya Gaines; three great-nephews, Demetrius Howard, Damian Holmes and Braxton Gaines; Charles had two devoted friends, Margie and James Gray and a host of other relatives and friends.
