On Tuesday, March 18, 2014, God extended His almighty hand of love and gently took Charles Aaron Byrd to a home of joy, peace, and happiness. Charlie Boy, as he was graciously known by his family and friends, was born on September 4, 1951 to Charles and Alberta Byrd of Colonial Beach VA. He received his education from the public school system of Westmoreland County, VA.

He was employed at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren VA, until his health declined and he retired after 29 years of service. He was a member of the Round Hill Hunt Club and enjoyed riding his motorcycle and four-wheeler, playing baseball, and going to the racetrack. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and was known for keeping his shoes shined, his ride clean, and as Charlie Boy would say "I Thought You Knew".
On February 11, 1970, he was united in holy matrimony to Mary I. Johnson. Two Beautiful Daughters, Kim and Crissy, completed this union.
