Catherine Isabelle Smith

Catherine also known as Isabelle, was born April 18, 1933 in Chaptico, Maryland to the late Joseph and Rebecca Curtis. Isabelle entered in eternal rest on July 22, 2018 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family and loved ones. Isabelle attended St. Mary’s County public schools and retired from Civista Medical Center. Isabelle began to represent the Catholic Faith at an early age.

Isabelle enjoyed cooking, going to bingo, and playing pokeno with her sisters and extended family. Isabelle and her sisters formed “The Poor People's Pokeno Club” and enjoyed every bit of the family game. Isabelle cherished and enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends this was a boundless joy for her.

Isabelle was preceded in death by her late husband James “Billy” Smith, son Lewis Smith, and daughter Bertha Smith. As well as a sister Frances Ford, and two brothers Thomas and Ralph Curtis. Grandsons Antonio Smith and Michael Dorsey and great granddaughter Lashawn.

Isabelle leaves to cherish the many loving memories; three daughters Annie Shade, Brenda Hicks, Audrey Cameron (Kevin), four sons James, Peter, Joseph, and Gerald Smith (Ruby). Two sisters Dorothy Curtis and Bertha Day. 25 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, and 19 great great grandchildren. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
