Carroll Robert Middleton, Jr. was born on July 28, 1944, departed this life Friday April 9, 2010, at his home in Colonial Beach, Virginia.
He was the son of the late Carroll S. and Goldie M. Middleton, and grew up in Mt. Victoria, Maryland in Charles County. Carroll was reared in a devout, God-fearing home, anchored in the religious teachings of Shiloh Community United Methodist Church in Newburg, Maryland from childhood.
Carroll attended Wayside Elementary school and was graduated from Bel Alton High School, Bel Alton, Maryland, in June 1963. During his years at Shiloh Church, he started singing at the age of 17, he later became an original member of the gospel group, The Soul Savers of Shiloh, remaining with them for many years, spreading the word of God far and near. His favorite gospel song was "When I Take My Vacation in Heaven." After moving to this area he became a member of All Together Gospel Singers he had a great passion for Gospel music.
He was employed with the Charles County Board of Education as a Truck Driver until his retirement in 1994. Carroll was a friendly person who was well-loved by his co-workers.
After moving to Virginia, Carroll became a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Colonial Beach, Virginia. On September 30, 2007, he was married to the former Brenda Peyton of Colonial Beach, Virginia.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Middleton, a daughter Rochelle Anderson Brown of Prince Georges County, Maryland, three sons, Andre Middleton of Waldorf, Maryland Christopher Johnson (Tunisia) of Fairfax, Virginia and Lance Peyton of Colonial Beach, Virginia, a brother, Leland R. Jones numerous sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws and many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
