Carolyn Revella Harvey, "Curly" was born April 29, 1935 to the late Walter and Laura Brooks and entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Mary Washington Hospital after a long illness. Carolyn received an early education at Ralph Bunch School in King George, VA
At an early age Carolyn joined Antioch Baptist Church where she was baptized, and later in life joined Salem Baptist Church. Carolyn was a vibrant and active member at Salem until she became ill. She served on three choirs, The Original Everready Choraleers under the Pastoral leadership of Rev. Winston Devon and under the Pastoral leadership of Rev. Leonard G. Bland she severed on the Mass Choir, and The Senior Choir. She also served on the kitchen committee. Willing and able to, when the church would take bus trips to visit other churches, plays, and other spiritual outings Carolyn was among one of the first in line to get on the bus. During Carolyn's time away from church she enjoyed cooking, dancing, and spending time with her grandchildren, close family and friends. Whenever music would come on she would start moving. She would dance and sing until her heart was content. Even when the days came of her being confined to a chair you could turn on the radio and her feet would start to move to whatever beat was playing. Carolyn was also a faithful member of the Vikinettes which was part of the Viking Hunting Club.
On February 10, 1952 she was joined in holy matrimony with Percy T. Harvey Sr. Out of this union ten children was born. One of which Percy T. Harvey Jr. along with her husband preceded her in death.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory nine children; Darlene Williams(Larry), Larry, Lester(Winfred), James, and Milton of King George Va., Anathea Jones(Nathaniel) of Richmond, Va., Cheryl Marshall(Junius) of King George Va., Bobby of Virginia Beach Va., and Paul(Regina) of King George Va., thirty-five grandchildren, sixty-nine great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren, one brother Thurman(Marsha) Brooks, one sister Joyce Harrison (Alfred), three sisters-in-law Louise Campbell, Mollie Calloway, and Leonda Harvey, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She also leaves to cherish one very devoted cousin and friend Shirley Whiting.
