Deaconess Carlene Hester Spinner was born June 20, 1928 to the late Lewis and Lucy Childs.
She attended public school in Spotsylvania, Virginia and later moved to Washington, D.C. Deaconess Carlene attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church Partlow, VA., she was President of the Missionary Society, a Deaconess, a member of the Senior Choir and a member of the Mother's Club.
Deaconess Carlene was married to the late James F. Spinner for 44 years and 8 months until God called him to his reward in 1991.
Deaconess Carlene slipped away peacefully on February 23, 2009 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Deaconess Carlene was a spirit filled, God fearing servant of God. In her acting years has a missionary and Deaconess. She faithfully visited the sick, comforted those in pain and was an intercessor for persons in need of prayers.
She would call and write to others encouraging and empowering them to hold on and look to God.
Deaconess Carlene was a woman of royalty and she had a strong relationship with God.
Deaconess Carlene is survivied by her son Larry Spinner; daughter-in-law Jean Spinner; brother, Audrie S. Childs; niece, Fannie L. Robinson; nephews, Arthur Childs, Oliver Robinson and Lloyd Childs; great nieces Dormetria Robinson; great-nephew Rudo Robinson, his wife Jamey Robinson and a host of family and friends.
