Carl Edward Chatman

A Time to Be Born
Carl Edward Chatman was born May 14, 1929 to the late Loumell and Rosa Chatman of Caroline County. He was the ninth of eleven children.
A Time to Learn and Serve
Carl received his education in Caroline County Public Schools. Carl served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge.
A Time to Love
In 1953 Carl married the love of his life Gloria E. Brown (Doll) to this union three sons were born.
A Time to Labor
Carl worked for RF+P Railroad before relocating to Detroit, Michigan and worked for Ford Motor Company where he retired in 1992.
A Time to Worship
Carl was baptized at a young age. He maintained his affiliation with his home church until his health declined.
A Time to Reflect
Carl was well known and loved by his entire community. Carl was a people person and will be remembered for his big smile and dedication to his family.
A Time to be Fulfilled
On December 27, 2016 Carl gained his wings as he was called home.
A Time for Legacy
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and five brothers. He leaves to cherish his memory to his loving and devoted wife Gloria; sons: Jesse Dawson (Cynthia), Carl M. Chatman (Elaine), Calvin T Chatman, Kermit T. Chatman (Brenda); one sister Reaver D. Brewington; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; two sister-in-laws: Lelia Carton and Cora Coates; God daughter Bridgett Buchanan and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins
