Carl E. Smith

Deacon Carl Smith departed this life on Wednesday, November 26,2003 at Mary Washington Hospital.

He was born January 13, 1922, to the late Clarence and Helen Smith and attended Public Schools in Westmoreland County. He married Clara Peyton and raised a son, Charles Edward.

Deacon Smith was well respected in the community adn surrounding areas. He was a Deacon at First Baptist Church, Colonial Beach, Va. for over thirty years. His love for God and Church was evident in the life he lead and the example he showed to others in his daily activities.

He retired from NSWC, Dahlgren, Va. after working there for over thirty years as a landscaper. He also served his country overseas in World War II.

He leave to mourn his passing his wife, Clara, a son, Charles and daughter-in-law Ada; a brother James and sister-in-law Claudia of Washington, D.C.; as sister-in-law Mary Jackson of New Jersey; two grand-children; 4 great-grand-children; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
