Beverly Bundy Byrd was born on February 6, 1961. She was the daughter of the late Alexander Bundy, Sr. and Ruth Blagmon Bundy of Champlain, Virginia.
She received her education in the Essex County Public School System and graduated in the Class of 1979.
"Tina" as she was fondly called was joined in Holy Matrimony to John Quincy Byrd of Caret, Virginia and to this union two sons were born, John Quincy, Jr., who is currently serving in the United States Navy and Joshua who is employed locally.
She loved and cherished her sons and was always helping them make good choices in their lives. She was a gentle, loving person that was devoted to the care of her husband, sons, grandson, sisters, brothers and other family members.She accepted Christ as her personal Savior in her teen years and joined New Liberty Baptist Church.
She later moved her membership to First Baptist Church, Loretta, Virginia. There she faithfully supported all the ministries of the church. She served as a Deacon and always inspired the church to praise and lean on the Lord.
She was employed by the Essex County School System, as a para-professional for many years, working with many teachers and students.
Her hobbies included making edible fruit and fl oral arrangements, raising chickens and selling their beautiful brown eggs and participating in the "Relay for Life" Breast Cancer Walk.
On Saturday evening, June 28, 2014, Beverly Bundy "Tina" Byrd departed this life.
Fond memories are left to be cherished by her husband, John Quincy Byrd, Sr., her two sons, John Quincy Byrd, Jr. (Ashley) of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Joshua Byrd (Virginia) of Caret, Virginia; one grandson, Ashton; the daughter she never had, Briana Jeter of Gloucester, Virginia and DeWayne Bundy her "Mullie Boy"; God children, Adrienne Holmes, Brandi Banks, Kyon and Kyle Acree; siblings, Sherry Boone (ï¬ ancée Swan) and Daphine Banks (Glenn) both of Richmond, Virginia, Connie Jeter (James) of Gloucester, Virginia, Darryl Bundy (Diane), Alexander Bundy, Jr. (Diane) and Juanita Bundy of Champlain, Virginia, Audrey Stanton of Baltimore, Maryland, Rose Veney and Deborah Brown of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Lawrence Webster of Harrisonburg, Virginia.
A special cousin, Elsie who was also like a sister; sisters-in-law, Pearl Ardell of Essex County, Virginia, Alice R. Bake of Essex County, Virginia and Beverly A. Young of Ruther Glen, Virginia; brothers-in-law, Parthenio A. Byrd of Essex County, Virginia, Carl D. Byrd (Connie) of Essex County, Virginia and Junius O. Byrd (deceased)Mary. Aunts, Gladys Ashlock of Tappahannock, Virginia, Lucy Hedgemon (Benard) of Caret, Virginia and Agnes Bundy of Williamsburg, Virginia, Aldell Alsop and Cora Byrd both of King and Queen, Virginia. Two uncles, Leroy Blagmon (Barbara) of Richmond, Virginia and Thomas Blagmon (Agnes) of Charlottesville, Virginia.
Three very special friends, Suzye Covington, Deirdre Hunter Johnson and Patrick Dispirito (Mr. D); and a host of nieces and nephews.
