Bessie R. Lee

Bessie Lee was born March 2, 1931 to the late Julian Lee, Sr. and Annie Ware Lee in Essex County, Virginia.

Bessie accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Supply, Virginia, where she was a loyal and faithful member of the Hospitality Committee, Seniors In Action, Flower Club, and Missionary Ministry until her health declined. Bessie was a loving and caring aunt. She always prepared meals on Sundays and holidays. She loved to work in her flower garden. She was never too busy for her family. Bessie worked at Aunt Sarah's Restaurant in Port Royal for many years. She was also a domestic worker. She will be greatly missed by all the hearts she touched. She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Bessie did not have any children, but she took her nieces Beverly, Elizabeth, Vernell and her nephews Arthur and Mel Jr. as her kids.

Bessie leaves to cherish her fond memeories one brother Amos Lee of Supply Va, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; three very special friends Jackie George, Carolyn Johnson, and Mary Garnett, Shelia Brown and Ruth Johnson, who she considered her godchildren, a great-niece Markecia Myers, that took care of her, and caregiver Mary Ann Rodriguez.
