Bertram Douglas Green was born in the Washington DC area on April 4, 1953, to the late Rebecca Green. He departed this life on September 19, 2014 at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville Virginia. Bertram lived a beautiful life and is now dwelling in the house of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Bertram grew up in South East Washington DC and attended Ann Beers Elementary School and graduated from Anacostia High School. He attended the University of the District of Columbia and took many courses at the IRS continuing education program. Bertram worked for the Internal Revenue Service for twenty seven years, receiving many awards. Just to name a few, the Albert Gallatin Award for his many years of outstanding service, awards for recognition of loyal and devoted service, award for twenty seven years of service a Gold Honorary Treasury Department US Inspection Badge, many leadership awards and other accolades.
Bertram had a strong belief in God and was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Sparta VA. He had a deeply held desire to help children and while living in DC and MD could be found coaching football and baseball games. While living in VA he was an avid couch athlete and could usually be found watching the Washington Redskins or the Washington Nationals.
Bertram leaves to cherish his memory his wife of forty years, Pamela Raimoane Alsop Green of Beaver Dam VA, one son Chad Elliot Green of Beaver Dam VA, one sister Theresa Wright of Washington DC, one niece Chanel Brown of Washington DC, one Uncle Jay (Pete) Greene and his wife Rev. Dr. Linda Greene of Maryland. One great nephew Jeremy Brown of Maryland, two great nieces, Richelle Burger of Maryland, and Jasmine Brown of Washington DC. Two great great nieces, Aaliya Richmond and Paris Moss of Maryland. His Mother-in-law, Deacon Myrtle Alsop of Newtown VA, two sister-in-laws, Dr. Sherrin Alsop of Newtown VA and Angela Alsop Thompson and her husband, James (TJ) Thompson of Maryland and a host of relatives and friends.
