Beatrice S. Holmes

Beatrice S. Holmes was born on February 3, 1935 to the late Minnie Carter Scott and Earl Henry Scott.  She departed this life on December 22, 2023 at her home, committed to Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

Beatrice was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Leonard L. Holmes.

Beatrice was a member of People’s Union Baptist Church in King George, Virginia. She remained faithful under Pastor Robert Brooks, III until her health declined.

Beatrice was a housekeeper and excellent at doing upholstery. She loved shopping, traveling and sightseeing with family and friends. Her favorite foods were pizza, Chinese, her fried chicken and macaroni and cheese. Her delights while at home were enjoying the numerous ceramic elephants decorating her place and watching the “Young and the Restless” and the “Price is Right.”

Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leonard L. Holmes, two brothers Herman and Percil Scott, and one son Leonard "Leroy" Holmes.

Beatrice leaves to cherish her memories four children:  Ernest B. Scott, William T. Holmes, Augustus Holmes and Minister Barbara Howard and son in-law Rev. Donnell Howard; eight grandchildren:  Keisha Garnett, Latina Smith, Beatrice Brown (Jeffrey), Bryant A. McCall, Monica Fortune (Larry), Alonzo Howard, Breona C. McCall, and Augustus Holmes, Jr.; eight great grandchildren; two brothers:  O'Dell Scott (Sandra) and Kenneth Scott (Marcella); two sisters-in-law Joyce Scott and Diane Scott; a brother-in-law Daniel Holmes; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other invaluable relationships.  Special friends:  Sheila Gray Paige, Mary Katherine Greenlow and Family, John Mitchell and Family, and Patsy Ann have endeared memories also.
