Barbara Yvonne Boone

Barbara Yvonne Brown-Boone, 76, made her transition to be with the Lord on Saturday May 22nd, 2021 at her residence.
Barbara was born in Louisa and raised in Spotsylvania. She was adopted by Daisy and Sam Brown at an early age. Later she moved to Fredericksburg where she attended Walker Grant High School, from there she graduated. She was an active member in church and joined Long Branch Baptist Church in her youth. While there she was a part of various choirs and was also a member of gospel group “The Voices of Gospel”. She worked in the hospitality ministry and was always helping where she could.
She started having health issues and was unable to do the things or go the places she loved. Even though she didn’t feel well she still tried to come out and participate. She was a pleasant person to be around and got along with everyone; She didn’t say much but always had a smile on her face.
Preceding her in death are her adoptive parents Daisy and Sam Brown, two siblings Mildred Samuel and Jacklyn Davis as well as her former husband James Boone Sr.
She and James married in 1967 and from that union they were blessed with three lovely children Kevin Alonzo Brown (Monique) of Stafford VA, Audrey Denis Boone of Spotsylvania VA and James Allen Boone Jr. (Tracy) of Fredericksburg VA. She has Three grandchildren Trevin Brown of Spotsylvania VA, Christopher Boone of Spotsylvania VA and Kristian Walker of Maryland. Two nephews Erron Davis and Rev Lafeyette Samuel. Two nieces Marian Townsend and Katie Samuel. Two half brothers James Bates Sr and Rev Hashmel Turner and a host of family and friends.
