Barbara Jean Lindsey

Barbara Jean Lindsey, daughter of the Vaulrie Armstead and the late Dorsey Raymond Armstead was born January 28, 1947 in Caroline County. She departed this life on Saturday, July 16, 2005 at the Beverly Health Care Center of Fredericksburg, after a long illness. She was educated in Caroline County Public Schools. At an early age she accepted Christ and joined Ebenezer Baptist Church, Supply, Virginia. She was employed by the Caroline County Public Schools as a bus driver and custodian for over twenty years until her health failed and she could no longer perform her duties. She loved to cook and care for her family, especially her grandchildren. She will truly be missed by all who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by a son, Alonzo Lindsey. She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Vaulrie Armstead of Supply; two daughters, Chekeela Dee Johnson (Jeffrey) of Champlain, Vaulrie Lindsey of Champlain; two sons, Alvin Lindsey (Joanne) of Center Cross, Clyde Lindsey, Jr. of Bowling Green; six grandchildren, Donell, Kendra, Ashlee, Joseph, Aleesha and Darnell; three sisters, Corliss Coleman (William) of Bowling Green, Faye Holmes (James) of Newton, Constance Armstead of Tappahannock; one uncle, Vertis Saunders (Nellie).
