Audrey B. Redmond

Audrey Byrd Redmond, daughter of Milton and the late Ida Byrd was born May 6, 1966 in Essex County, Virginia. On Friday May 27, 2011 after fighting a long battle with cancer, God called her home to be with Him.

Audrey accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was baptized at Little Zion Baptist Church.

She received her education in the public schools of Westmoreland County. After graduation she moved to New Jersey where she began her career with the Federal Government.

She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Paul Redmond August 31, 1985. From this union one beautiful, devoted and loving daughter Brittany was born.

She was employed in the Federal Government for 21 years as a Program Management Analyst. Due to her illness she retired in April of 2008. In August of 2010 she was able to return to work as a Budget Analyst for the Virginia Department of Corrections.

Audrey was well known and loved by all. She loved her family and friends and will be remembered for her joking spirit, and her love of shopping. She was truly an angel sent from heaven. She touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with, there was never a day she was not smiling or laughing. She was a loyal friend to all, she worked very hard, helped anyone in need and never complained. There is not enough room to describe what a wonderful and loving woman she was. Even on her worst days if you would ask Audrey how she was feeling she would say, "I'm okay"; which is why her favorite song was I Won't Complain. Audrey will truly be missed by all.

Audrey was preceded in death by her mother Ida Byrd and one uncle, John Randall.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Paul Redmond and one daughter Brittany Redmond of Fredericksburg, VA. Her father, Milton Byrd of Oak Grove, VA, one sister Lisa McGee (Spencer Richards) of Forestville, MD. Her Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law David and Mary Redmond. Brothers-in-Law Lynn Johnson (Paula), George Johnson (Helen), Lawrence Johnson (Cynthia), William Redmond (Phyllis), Timothy Redmond (Pamela Tate), Shawn Redmond. Sisters-in-Law Theresa Day (Patrick), Gwedolyn Willis (Lloyd), Myra Redmond. Her uncles Raymond Self (Lucille). Lloyd Self, Charles Byrd (Alberta), Thomas Byrd (Rosa Marie), Everett Byrd (Rose), Edward Byrd. Her aunts Alice Saunders (Edwards), Deborah Gray (James), Georgia Phillips (Eldridge), Marsha Self and Beatrice Berry (William). A special niece Keysheria Wood (Chris) and two Godsons, Darius Wood, and Antarae Byrd, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
