Arlene Thelma Burruss

Arlene Thelma Burruss daughter of the late Ezekiel Lee and Ethel Mallory Burruss was born April 9, 1930 in the Penola area of Caroline County, Virginia. She departed this life after a long illness, early Sunday morning January 25, 2009 at the Washington Hospital Center.

At an early age she accepted Christ and joined the Second Baptist Church, Ruther Glen, Va. She was blessed with the birth of two daughters Sandra and Malinda form a union of the marriage to Wryter Baylor.

Later in life she moved to California for a period of time then back to Washington, D.C. Where she lived with her daughter for the remainder of her life. She was employed at the Waffle Shop 10th & F Street, Washington, D.C. She enjoyed life, loved to travel and attend religious functions and spending special time with her daughter Sandra.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Malinda and two brothers Welford and Oliver. She leaves to cherish her devoted daughter Sandra Baylor Cole; Washington, D.C.; three sisters Ida Hunt, Lucille Green both of Silver Spring, MD and Myrl Jones, Catonsville, MD.; six brothers Warrenton Burruss, McKee Burruss, Lincoln Burruss, and his wife Dorothy all of Ruther Glen, Va., Earl Burruss and his wife Rose; Huntington, MD.; Goddaughter Gloria Jenkins, Washington, D.C. and Yolanda Woodruff, Catonsville, MD; sister-in-law Orelia Burruss; Ashland, Va. and host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
