Annie Green

"For she looked for a city which hath foundations, Whose builder and make is God." Hebrews 11:10

On Wednesday, February 18, 2009, God called one of His angels ANNIE GREEN home to rest. She was with her family. She said she was tired and God closed her weary eyes.

Annie "Aunt Annie to Most" was born August 19, 1917 in King William County, Virginia to the late William Thomas and Mary L. Green. She was preceded by death by her grandson Darnell A. Green and of her eleven siblings. Annie attended and graduated from the county public schools. She furthered her education and attended Beautician School in Washington, D.C. After returning home, she was not only a beautician, but also a substitute school teacher. She loved gardening and had the most beautiful flowers. You would also find her in the fields doing some farming.

During her early years, she joined the Providence Baptist Church and worked diligently. She served in some way in every ministry within the church excepted delivering the morning sermon. She probably could have done that too. Her wealth of knowledge, wisdom, patience, love and ability to work with others made her a true kingdom builder. She not only enjoyed singing in the senoir choir, but could also play the piano-with one hand. The first junior choir was orgainized under her leadership and is still serving today as The J.L. Hobson Memorial Choir. She always had a love for music and enjoyed working with the youth. After the death of her sister, she served as church clerk for 27 years.

Annie leaves to cherish her memories, beloved son Stanley Ellis Green, daughter-in-law Pamela Green, two grandchildren, Teresa and Kimberly Green, four great grandchildren, Ambria Garnett, Darnell Green, Jr. and Brinton and Brandon Anderson, one great-great grandchild Jaylen Anderson, a host of devoted nieces and nephews, including Carroll "Leonard" Green, two very dear cousins George & Lavinia Foster, family and friends.
