Ms. Annette Brown was born on December 20, 1947, in Caroline County, Virginia to the late Everette H. and Letisha Scott Brown. At a very young age, she accepted Christ as her personal savior at Beulah Baptist Church in Woodford, Virginia. She received an informal education in the Caroline County School System. She continued to pursue her education in many different areas to include: mastering the skill of sign language, where she was able to assist members in her community. "Baby Sis" or "Bigga" as she was affectionately known, a kindhearted and loving conversationalist. Annette treasured her family and friends and enjoyed communicating with them after moving to Washington, D.C. She always took time to remember birthdays, anniversaries and special holidays with a phone call or a beautiful card. Her hobbies were challenging her mind with puzzles, collecting bibles and assisting others. With great inner strength, quietly and peacefully on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, Annette put her hand in God's hand when she answered the Lord's call and went home to rest. She was preceded in death by her parents, Letisha and Everett Brown and six brothers; Everett Jr., Seymour, Willie, Calvin, Burton and Elton Brown. She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving daughter, Rachel L. Lewis and her husband Mark Lewis of Ladysmith, Virginia; one granddaughter, Sharron "Nitty" Fox and her husband Arthur Fox; and her three beautiful great grandchildren, RaShaun X. Fox, Tamara N. Fox and Sierra S. Washington, of Ruther Glen, Virginia; a devoted friend and loving companion, Mr. Robert Miles; three sisters, Daisy Wright of Woodford, Virginia; Letisha Boone and Barbara Sims of Ruther Glen, Virginia; three aunts and two uncles, Cora and Walter Coates, Gloria and Carl Chatman and Lelia Carter of Caroline County, Virginia; and one brother-in-law, Gary Boone. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of dearly loved nieces, nephews and many, many dearly-loved relatives and acquaintances
