Andrew T. ''At'' Dabney

Andrew T. Dabney, 68, of Newtown, Va., departed this life on May 7, 2003 at Washington Adventist Hospital, Takoma Park, Md.
Mr. Dabney was born to the late Leroy and Lillie Ellis Dabney on December 18, 1934 in King and Queen County.
He received his education in the King and Queen County Public School System. Andrew lived most of his adult life in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area and was employed by Giant Food where he retired after 25 years of faithful and dedicated service.
At an early age he joined First Mount Olive Baptist Church in Newtown, Va. where he remained a loyal supporter. Upon his return to King and Queen County Andrew became an active participant in his church where he was an usher and trustee in training until his health started to fail.
On May 12, 1958, Andrew was joined in Holy Matrimony to Ida Mae Clarke. From this union three daughters were born.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, three daughters, Gail Dabney of Tappahanock, Va., Angela Dabney Islam of Beazley, Va., Tammy Dabney of Champlain, Va.; two brothers, Roy Dabney of Palm Coast, Florida and Wallace Dabney of Riverdale, Md.; three grand-children; his step-mother, Floretta Pointer of Washington, D.C.; two step-daughters, Saundra and Genevia Dabney both of Tappahanock, Va.; one step-sister, Joyce Prue of Washington, D.C.; and four step-grandchildren; six aunts; two uncles; three sister-in-laws; and one son-in-law; devoted friend Ida Mae Dabney; a longtime devoted friend Charles Chavis and a devoted companion Helen White and step-children; six nieces, nine nephews and a host of cousins, relatives, co-workers and loyal friends.
