Alfred Thomas Woolfolk, departed this life quietly on Wednesday morning, September 8th, 2004, at his residence after a brief illness.

Alfred was born June 10, 1923 in Woodford, Va. to the late Leon and Rosie Woolfolk. He received his education at the Woolfolk School, Paige Road, Caroline County.

He joined the St. John Baptist Church at an early age. He was faithful in his attendance until his health failed him. Alfred loved his Pastor and Church family.

Alfred was enlisted in the U. S. Navy and received an honorable discharge. He was employed by the FMC Plant for 34 years.

On June 1, 1943, Alfred was joined in holy matrimony to Susie E. Martin.

Alfred enjoyed fishing and gardening. He would share his garden with his family and friends. As a neighbor, he was a friendly ambassador of good will; as a husband, father, brother, and grandfather, he was a loyal, loving and kind man.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife, Susie Woolfolk, one loving daughter, Ethel Carter; three loving sons, Alfred Woolfolk, Jr., Randolph Woolfolk and Irving Woolfolk; one devoted sister, Emma Woolfolk; three daughter-in-laws, Virginia Woolfolk, Deborah Woolfolk, and Edwina Woolfolk; one son-in-law, David Carter; five sister-in-laws, Barbara Woolfolk, Francis Woolfolk, Shirley Boulware, Sally Boulware and Lenora Blagmon; one brother-in-law, Robert Davidson; one uncle, James Woolfolk; fifteen grandchildren; one devoted granddaughter, Bridgette Carter; thirty three Great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Some of his special friends; ''B. Rich'', Vincent Childs, Bunny Anderson, Buster Fortune, Floyd Fortune, Vincent Robinson and Nat Johnson.

'' Your faithful work on earth is through, and God has prepared a place for you. Early in the morning, you slipped away. Bound for glory and there to stay''
