Albert A. Beverly was born August 23, 1941 to the late James and Agnes Beverly in King George. Albert passed from this life on February 21, 2020 in his beloved King George County, Virginia. After serving in the United States Air Force, Mr. Beverly achieved distinction by becoming the first African-American police officer for the City of Alexandria in 1965, later continuing his law enforcement career at NSWC Dahlgren. He leaves behind three children, Gracie Beverly, Reuben Beverly, and Joseph Tompkins; a granddaughter, Mikayla Feather; and two siblings, Lucy Beverly-Johnson (Al) and William Beverly (Urline), in addition to a host of relatives, friends, and acquaintances. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, March 2nd at Peoples Union Baptist Church (King George) to be followed by burial at Quantico National Cemetery on Tuesday, March 3rd at 10:00 am.
