Abraham Byrd entered peacefully into eternal rest on the morning of July 19, 2015 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Abraham was born on April 2, 1929 to Ella and Robert Byrd, Sr. in Oak Grove, Virginia. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at an early age and joined the Little Zion Baptist Church in Oak Grove, Virginia. He became a Deacon and served faithfully for many years.
Abraham later resided in King George, Virginia and Colonial Beach, Virginia. Mr. Byrd was employed with the King George County School system for many years before his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor, five brothers- Robert, Raymond, Joseph, Jacob and Isaiah, one sister Fannie Ware, one step-sister Becky Vicks and one grandson Lawrence Johnson, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Ella Byrd Hinton, step-son Lawrence Johnson, Sr. (Gloria), sisters Mary Hunter (Robert) and Annie Mae Hunter (William), step-sisters Lottie Goodman and Peggy Ann Maiden, granddaughter Janice Johnson, grandsons Justin Abraham Hinton and Christopher Johnson, great-grandson Andre' Johnson, and numerous godchildren, nieces, nephews, additional family members and friends.
